Overview

The Jira integration connects prioritization in Productboard to delivery in Jira. Push features to Jira as epics, stories, or subtasks, map fields between the two systems, and let webhooks keep both sides current. Available on all plans, with 1 integration configuration on Free and Plus, 5 on Business, and unlimited on Enterprise; Jira Server and Data Center connections require the Enterprise plan.

Push features and subfeatures to Jira

Send prioritized features from Productboard to Jira as new issues. Features map to epics and subfeatures map to stories or subtasks, with custom issue types supported when your Jira setup uses them.

Sync statuses and fields both ways

Map standard and custom fields between Productboard and Jira, and changes in either system sync to the other via webhooks. Rule-based automations update a feature's status in Productboard when its linked Jira issue moves, on every plan.

Import Jira issues

Pull existing Jira issues into Productboard as features with a one-time import, or set up ongoing imports using JQL-based filters. Work that started in Jira becomes part of your prioritization and roadmap.

Push releases as fix versions

Sync Productboard releases into Jira as fix versions, so release planning matches on both sides.

Setup

Productboard admins can add the integration, and a Jira "Authorizer" account completes authentication on the Jira side. OAuth requires Jira admin permissions and provides full functionality; API token and Personal Access Token connections are available with some limits, such as managing webhooks manually.

1. In Productboard, open Integrations settings and add a Jira integration.
2. Authenticate via OAuth, API token, or Personal Access Token.
3. Configure field mappings between Productboard and Jira.
4. Start pushing features or importing issues.
