The benefit of Spark is context-aware AI that has continuity — in other LLMs you have more of a siloed experience. Spark's document generation is a game changer for briefs, PRDs, and discovery plans. It creates more structured and actionable outputs compared to manual creation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a credit?

Credits power all AI interactions in Productboard Spark. Every time you use Spark's AI capabilities - like creating documents, analyzing customer feedback, or generating competitive analyses - you use credits.

Different tasks consume different amounts of credits depending on their complexity. For example, analyzing 100 customer insights uses 3-5 credits, while more intensive workflows, such as creating a comprehensive product requirements document, may use 85-95 credits.

With 250 credits per maker per month, you have enough capacity to complete approximately 4-5 full initiatives plus additional exploration and iteration.

What happens when I run out of credits?

You'll still have full access to your workspace, documents, and notes - nothing gets locked or deleted. However, you won't be able to use Spark's AI features until your credits reset on your next monthly renewal date or you purchase additional credits. As you approach your credit limit, you'll see notifications in Spark letting you know your status and how to get more credits if you need them.

Can I buy more credits if I need them?

Yes. If you need more credits before your renewal date, you can purchase credit top-ups directly from your workspace.

For monthly plans, credits are available in 50-credit bundles for $5 per bundle.

For annual plans, you can purchase 600-credit bundles for $60 per year (distributed as 50 credits per month).

You can buy as many bundles as you need, and if you purchase mid-cycle, both the cost and credits are pro-rated for your first period.

How do I get started with Spark?

When you sign up for Spark, you automatically start with 150 credits for your workspace - enough to complete 1-2 full initiatives (like creating a product brief and competitive analysis) plus additional exploration.

The 150 credits are free and do not expire, so you can try Spark at your own pace. But they're a one-time allocation and won't renew each month.

Once you've used your 150 free credits, you'll still have full access to your workspace, documents, and notes. However, you won't be able to use any AI features until you upgrade to a paid plan.

Can I add Spark to my existing Productboard workspace?

Spark is currently available as a standalone workspace separate from your existing Productboard account.

If you're an existing Starter, Essentials or Pro plan customer and want to try Spark, you can sign up for a new Spark workspace by clicking on the button to try Spark on this page.

If you're an Enterprise customer interested in enabling Spark within your existing workspace, please contact your account representative to discuss beta access options or click on the button to contact sales on this page.

What data does Spark use?

Spark can access any documents you provide in your workspace in addition to customer feedback notes and associated data. In the near future, Spark will be able to access additional product data in your workspace to carry out more actions and provide more responses.

Spark follows Productboard's standard security and privacy practices. Your data remains within your workspace and is not used to train external AI models.

For more information, see Productboard's AI Terms.
