At Productboard, we fundamentally believe that the world's best products are created by product makers who possess an exceptionally deep understanding of their customers' needs. Whether they are Product Managers, Designers, or Engineers, the brightest minds behind the most successful and beloved products are those who truly embody their customers.
We are on an exciting and defining journey — transforming Productboard into an AI-first company. At the heart of this transformation is ProductboardSpark, our next-generation AI-powered product experience that reimagines how product teams operate, prioritize, and make decisions. This is not incremental improvement; it is a fundamental rethinking of what a Product Management Platform can be.
We're seeking a seasoned Staff Product Designer to take on a senior individual contributor role within our Product design team. At this level, you will be a strategic force — identifying and defining some of the most important initiatives across the organization, and elevating the craft and output of the designers around you.
Our product is driven by a strong product-led motion, and you will be among people who understand the challenges of simplifying complexity, especially in the AI era, without compromising functionality for large enterprises.
You'll join a team of about 10 designers based in Europe, and get the support of some of the best people in the industry, like our product design advisor Joshua Goldenberg.
You'll work within empowered product teams that combine the strengths of designers, engineers, and product managers, and experience the power of cross-functional collaboration every day.
Your responsibilities
Identify and solve strategically important design problems and decisions.
Own and drive complex, high-impact design initiatives across product areas, guiding other designers and cross-functional partners toward cohesive, unified outcomes.
Use AI to deeply understand customer needs, translate them into compelling product experiences that balance user needs with business goals and prototype them using code with our design system components and patterns.
Establish quality standards and champion programs that raise the bar across the organization — not just within a single team.
Work with key stakeholders to make critical decisions; analyzing feature and design trade-offs, clearly communicating the implications of the options and your recommendation, while being open to feedback and other points of view.
Motivate and empower teammates to achieve a higher level of performance and craft, helping prioritize and drive key initiatives across the team.
Serve as a thought leader for design and AI-first product development: initiate and facilitate meaningful discussions on complex issues, influence prioritization across teams, and represent the Design brand externally.
Mentor and develop mid-level and senior designers, helping build design leadership from within.
Participate in design critiques and product discussions as a senior voice; improving the design process and elevating the quality bar across the broader design organization.
About you
6+ years of experience in an individual contributor design role, preferably in Enterprise B2B SaaS.
AI-first mindset and demonstrable hands-on experience using AI, not just to vibe code but to amplify your human-centric skills, exploration and complex problem-solving.
Proven track record of leading strategically important design initiatives that had measurable, company-level impact — not just within a single team.
Deep expertise in interaction design and information architecture, complemented by strong visual design skills to deliver intuitive, engaging product experiences at scale.
Experience operating with significant autonomy: you determine methods and procedures on new assignments, coordinate activities across teams, and drive design direction without needing day-to-day guidance.
Demonstrated ability to define and contribute to quality standards, design systems, and design processes that have an impact beyond your immediate team.
Highly skilled in conducting user research and building empathy with customers.
Skilled at defining and anticipating metrics to measure design impact; comfortable analyzing trade-offs and involving key stakeholders in critical decisions.
Strong mentorship instincts — you actively invest in the growth of others and help build design leadership within the organization.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; trusted to communicate the Design both internally to executives and externally to customers and the design community.
Portfolio of shipped product experiences demonstrating significant impact on business outcomes and customer experience, with examples of work in AI products, across multiple teams or product areas, with significant level of technical complexity.
Proactive, curious, and independent, with a passion for solving broader problems, advancing your craft, and driving company-wide impact.
What's in it for you?
