Join one of our platform teams and help us build the foundations and integrations that power Productboard – a one-of-a-kind product management system used by 5000+ global companies.
You will work on technically interesting and high-impact areas like Public APIs, integrations with third-party systems, automations, notifications, permissions, and more.
As a mid-level engineer (IC2), you’ll take end-to-end ownership of well-scoped features, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers in a cross-functional team setup. You’ll contribute to shaping how our product connects to the outside world while scaling its core capabilities.
We value strong Kotlin or Java skills, a practical mindset, and a sense of ownership. If you enjoy solving real problems, working iteratively, and focusing on delivering value, you’ll feel at home here. And if you’re excited about using AI tools to speed up development and boost productivity, you’ll have plenty of room to experiment.
This role is primarily based in our Prague or Brno office with an office-centric hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
As a Backend Engineer (IC2), you will:
Own small to medium-sized features end-to-end; from technical breakdown to deployment and post-release monitoring.
Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to clarify requirements and suggest pragmatic solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that a new teammate could easily understand and extend. You leave the codebase better than you found it.
Identify and execute small, pragmatic refactoring opportunities to address localized tech debt within your project’s scope.
Write basic design notes for the features you build, clarifying your approach and key decisions for the rest of the team.
Participate in code reviews, offering helpful, constructive feedback to peers.
